๐ฏ 1. Welcome & School Overview
A Letter to Our Community
Welcome to the High School of America family. Our educational model provides the ultimate flexibility, allowing you to define when, where, and how you learn. This handbook is your operational roadmap to navigating our platform, understanding our policies, and maximizing your success. We are deeply committed to fostering a secure, engaging, and highly supportive digital environment.
Core Philosophy
We believe every student holds immense value, and a student's past academic record does not define their future capabilities. We operate on the principle of providing a clean slate backed by robust administrative support to ensure no one slips through the cracks.

Withdrawal & Refund Protocol
Due to the immediate provisioning of proprietary software, intellectual property, and secure server resources, we enforce a strict 3-day evaluation window. Families have three days from activation to determine if the platform aligns with their needs. After this period, no refunds are issued. Official withdrawals must be executed exclusively via email to support@highschoolofamerica.org; verbal notices are not recognized by our billing system.

Grading Architecture
Each full-credit course represents 135 hours of instructional engagement. Students must complete all designated modules and assessments; testing out of a course for instant credit is not permitted.
A (90-100)
4.0 Grade Points
B (80-89)
3.0 Grade Points
C (70-79)
2.0 Grade Points
D (60-69)
1.0 Grade Points
F (0-59)
0.0 Grade Points
Transfer Credits & Grade Forgiveness
Inbound transfer credits are mapped to our grading scale based on official transcripts. If a student transfers with a sub-optimal grade (D or F) in a core requirement, our grade forgiveness protocol allows them to retake the equivalent course. Upon achieving a C or higher, only the newly acquired grade will execute in the GPA calculation algorithm.
๐งญ 5. Post-Secondary & Career Readiness
We actively prepare our students for life beyond the digital classroom. Our Future Readiness program is an internal requirement designed to help upperclassmen navigate their next steps, whether that entails continued education, specialized training, or entering the workforce.
Records & Transcript Management
We provide a secure, cryptographic validation system that is fully accessible to students, universities, and employers. Through this portal http://highschoolofamerica.org/validate, students are empowered to digitally route their official academic credentials to prospective institutions with certified authenticity and real-time tracking.
๐ก๏ธ 6. Digital Conduct & Safety Framework
Operating in a cloud-based educational environment requires strict adherence to digital citizenship and cybersecurity protocols. Your access to our network is a privilege that hinges on ethical conduct, respect for intellectual property, and system integrity.
Academic Integrity
Intellectual honesty is non-negotiable. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, the unauthorized distribution of proprietary test data, plagiarism, utilizing external digital devices during locked-down assessments, and misrepresenting authorship. Violations trigger immediate administrative review, potentially resulting in zero credit, grade reduction, or permanent account termination.
Anti-Harassment & Cyberbullying Policy
We enforce a zero-tolerance architecture regarding bullying and harassment. Cyberbullyingโthe use of digital platforms, messaging services, or social media to systematically inflict psychological distressโseverely degrades the learning environment. This applies whether the infrastructure used is school-provisioned or private. All reports trigger an immediate, confidential administrative investigation. Retaliation against whistleblowers will result in immediate suspension.
Data Privacy (FERPA Compliance)
We handle your data with enterprise-grade security. Following FERPA guidelines, your educational records and telemetry data are strictly safeguarded. We do not monetize your personal information or share it with unauthorized third-party brokers. System access is strictly logged and monitored to ensure data sovereignty.
๐ 7. Conclusion
