Will a diploma from an online school be taken seriously?
It is an accredited diploma issued by High School of America, and admissions offices and employers treat it as one. Worth knowing the distinction Pennsylvania draws: a family who files a Home Education Program affidavit and completes the portfolio process satisfies compulsory attendance, but the state does not itself issue a diploma to a child educated that way. Ours is not that, and it is not a GED.
Our child trains early in the morning for a sport. Can school fit around practice?
Yes. Lessons are self-paced, so the school day can sit before or after training. A counselor helps set a weekly rhythm at the start, and a certified teacher still grades the work in every subject.
We live in York now but may move elsewhere in Pennsylvania during the year. Does anything restart?
